10th, 11th and 12th project meetings held in Split, Osijek and Zagreb

The 10th meeting was held on March 8, 2017 in Split, the 11th meeting on March 12 in Osijek, and the final 12th meeting on March 17 in Zagreb.

The agenda of the 10th meeting consisted of two points: 1. Evaluation of the round table and presentation of the final project publication in Split and 2. Work plan on the remaining project activities. After the evaluation was carried out, the project partners concluded that the presentation format and discussion at the round table were well designed and implemented. As an added value, active participation of media representatives and students on the round table was pointed out.

It was concluded that a similar format will be used at round tables in Osijek and Zagreb, with the addition of participation of representatives of local higher education institutions. Project partners also agreed on details of the meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Science and Education, the Agency for Science and Higher Education and the J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek on introducing policy recommendations made during the project and advocating the establishment of a national database for quality assurance and enhancement.

During the evaluation, the project partners concluded that the round table was successfully implemented and were satisfied with the presentations and the level of discussion. The IDE project team presented the conclusions of the meeting to key stakeholders from the Ministry of Science and Education, the Agency for Science and Higher Education and the representatives of J.J. Strossmayer University in Osijek, who were presented with the policy recommendations and the idea of creation of a national quality assurance database, which was positively accepted. The project partners agreed on the format, concept and structure of the last round table in Zagreb.

The agenda of the final project meeting consisted of three points: 1. Final evaluation of project activities and outcomes, 2. Project implementation and  instructions for the final report, and 3. Discussion and suggestions for further continuation of co-operation through sustainability of the project results. During the evaluation, all project partners expressed their satisfaction with the quality of project management and implementation of activities. In addition, they emphasized the extent of knowledge and experience gained related to monitoring and advocating public policies in the field of higher education and the interest for cooperation on future projects. The second part of the final meeting was devoted to the sustainability of project results and the continuation of cooperation on the topic of increasing the transparency of the results of external and internal quality assurance procedures in higher education. All project partners expressed interest in periodic repetition of project research and the development of local reports on the transparency of higher education institutions in order to monitor the impact of the conducted awareness-raising campaign and the use of transparency tools designed through the project. Project partners expressed interest in submitting a follow-up project when a funding opportunity presents itself.  The meeting was completed with a series of administrative-financial information and guidance for project partners with a focus on drafting and delivering documentation for the final narrative and financial report.
